Cerec Crowns

Advanced Cerec® technology allows ceramic crowns to be fabricated and delivered start to finish in just a single visit to the dental office in most cases. Digital imaging is used to make a digital model of the tooth being crowned, which eliminates the need for a traditional impressions and temporary crowns. Once the digital model is created, the crown can be designed, milled, and fired all while you are in the office. Once the crown is complete it will be tried in to verify fit, check contacts, occlusion and finally be bonded in place and you will be on your way!

Why do I need a crown?

Dental crowns are placed over the natural tooth structure in order to address trauma, correct esthetics of teeth that have been chipped, broken or cracked, weakened by severe decay or infection, worn down through bite irregularities, or impacted by large fillings.

Many people have unexplained pain from back teeth with large fillings, which is usually due to hairline cracks in the teeth that leave the cusps of the teeth unsupported by sound tooth structure. Placing crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth.

In teeth treated with root canal therapy, crowns are recommended to prevent breakage of the remaining tooth structure.

Pediatric Dentistry

Get your state-of-the-art, computer-designed, all-porcelain restoration for the same cost as a conventional crown.

Our experienced dental team welcomes all ages! We would love to take care of your whole family’s dental health, and give you a break from the hassle of scheduling at multiple dental offices.  We offer a variety of services for children in our practice such as cleanings,  exams, x-rays, sealants, fluoride treatments, fillings,  emergency extractions, and extractions for orthodontics.

Our primary goal is to emphasize the importance of preventive care for our patients so that we can save you time and save stress for your child having to be in the dental chair for anything other than routine check-ups!

Sometimes children may need extra help to have their dental needs met. We offer nitrous oxide to calm our patients in this setting. Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) sedation is most commonly used for longer appointments, patients who have dental anxiety, a strong gag reflex, and/or patients that have difficulty sitting still.

If your child has extensive treatment needs such as nerve treatment, crowns, cosmetic crowns for front teeth, space maintenance or expansion, we will refer you to a local pediatric specialist for care!

Happy Visit

It is most important that young children learn to love the dental office. If we set the stage for prevention and happy, educational visits, we can predict a life free of dental fear.

At that first appointment, we want to spend the bulk of the time educating. This is when we do a knee-to-knee examination.

Nitrous Oxide

The combination of inhaled nitrous oxide and oxygen is a safe and effective way to manage your child’s pain and anxiety during their dental appointment. The effects of nitrous oxide are fast acting and wear off quickly so patients are able to return to all daily activities before they leave our office.

Fillings

Dental fillings are used to treat cavities and broken teeth. Teeth are usually filled with a material called composite resin, which is designed to look like natural teeth, but occasionally silver fillings are needed for better various reasons. Before your child gets a filling, your child will receive a local anesthetic to numb the tooth and gums around the tooth. We will then clean away the bad and decayed part of the tooth so that it is ready to be filled.

Cleanings & Exams

Routine dental exams and cleanings are vital in maintaining your oral health. Having your teeth cleaned every 6 months along with the dentist’s comprehensive exam is the best way to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars in the mouth. In some cases it has the ability to arrest early decay in the enamel.

Sealant

A sealant, and it is a thin, protective coating that adheres to the chewing surface of your back teeth. They prevent cavities from forming in the deeps grooves of the teeth and in places that tooth brush bristles cannot reach.

Periodontal Services

PERIODONTAL (GUM) DISEASE IS A LEADING CAUSE OF TOOTH LOSS AND MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH OTHER CHRONIC DISEASES, INCLUDING DIABETES AND HEART DISEASE.

Periodontal disease is the result of infection and inflammation of the gums and bone that surround and support the teeth. In its early stage, called gingivitis, the gums can become swollen and red, and they may bleed. In its more serious form, called periodontitis, the gums can pull away from the tooth, bone can be lost, and the teeth may loosen or even fall out. Periodontal disease is mostly seen in adults. A recent CDC report stated 47% of adults aged 30 years and older have some form of periodontal disease.

Composite Fillings

A tooth colored filling material made of composite resins. This type of filling not only offers the advantage of being far more aesthetically pleasing than an amalgam filling, but it also requires less tooth preparation.

Amalgam Fillings

Amalgam (silver filling) is a stable alloy made by combining mercury, silver, tin, copper and other metallic elements. An advantage to filling teeth with dental amalgam is that the material is able to endure a high chewing load.  They are also useful in areas where a cavity preparation is difficult to keep dry during the filling placement.

Root Canals

A Root canal is when the nerve chamber of the tooth is accessed through the top of the tooth and the diseased nerve and canal is cleaned, shaped, and filled with a biologically-inert substance known as gutta-percha to seal it from further infection.

Implant Crowns

We provide beautiful porcelain dental implant restorations. If you have a missing tooth, a dental implant is the optimum tooth replacement restoration, offering a natural appearance and function.

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain is an extremely strong and durable material. The surface of porcelain crowns both looks and feels identical to natural tooth enamel. Porcelain crowns can be perfectly matched to the shade of the adjacent teeth. Porcelain is stain resistant and capable of restoring full bite function and strength.

Bridges

If you are not a candidate for a dental implant or you prefer to not have a surgical procedure a bridge is another great restorative option to replace a missing tooth.

Custom Dentures

A denture is a removable appliance that is fabricated after all of the teeth have been extracted and the tissues and gums have healed. It is inserted into the mouth, replacing natural teeth and providing support for the cheeks and lips.

Immediate Dentures

An immediate denture is fabricated prior to the extractions and then placed immediately after the extraction procedure has been performed, allowing the tissues to heal underneath.

Partial Dentures

A removable partial denture is custom designed for you and and replaces missing teeth. Your partial will complete your smile and prevent existing teeth from drifting out of position, as well as give you the functionality to chew.

Preventative Services

X-Rays

We keep our office up to date with the latest developments in radiography, providing low-radiation, Bitewing, Peri-apical and Panoramic digital x-rays during routine dental visits annually.

Dental Exams and Cleanings

Routine dental exams and cleanings are vital in maintaining your oral health. Having your teeth cleaned every 6 months along with the dentist’s comprehensive exam is the best way to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars in the mouth. In some cases it has the ability to arrest early decay in the enamel.

Sealants

Oral Cancer Screening

The oral cancer exam is quick and painless. During your regular dental check-up your dentist or dental hygienist will check your face, neck, lips, and entire mouth for signs of cancer, and notify you whether or not a biopsy is recommended.

Night Guards

Teeth grinding and clenching, also known as Bruxism, is pretty common and can be painful and destructive to teeth. Bruxism can lead to broken teeth, loss of tooth enamel, and in severe cases, loss of teeth. Night Guards work by work by putting a barrier between your teeth to prevent wear.

Smile Makeovers

A smile makeover combines a multitude of cosmetic procedures to create a beautiful new smile. Our team of skilled dentists will determine which procedures are appropriate for you based on your aesthetic goals, the condition of your teeth, your facial features, and your personal preferences.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are extremely thin pieces of porcelain that are permanently bonded to the teeth in your smile line. Veneers are great for correcting minor misalignments, shade and proportions of teeth. Teeth are prepared by the dentist with conservative tooth structure removal to create a highly aesthetic result.

Bonding

Bonding is a minimally invasive and convenient solution to a multitude of dental concerns, including chips, cracks, and stains. The dentist molds a thin coating of a strong tooth-colored resin onto the tooth resulting in natural appearance that can last for years with proper care.

Whitening

We make custom bleaching trays to provide professional-strength whitening in as little as an hour a day for seven days, at a surprisingly low cost. We use the top professional bleaching brands with additives for decreased sensitivity.

Dental Implants

We provide beautiful porcelain dental implant restorations for our patients in the Bryan and College Station area. If you have a missing tooth, a dental implant is the optimum tooth replacement restoration, offering a natural appearance and function.

After the tooth is removed, the oral or periodontal surgeon often places a grafting material in the socket to maintain the bone. When the bone has filled in, the surgeon will place the implant (root replacement) in the bone. Approximately three months later, the surgeon will place a healing cap on the implant to shape the tissue. Then an abutment (post) is placed in the implant, extending above the gums. Our office will fabricate a precision custom porcelain crown (the part of the implant restoration that you can see) and fix the crown onto the implant abutment. The entire process can take from three to six months, during which time you can have a temporary restoration if needed for esthetic purposes.

The final product is a beautiful tooth which can be cleaned and flossed like every other tooth. The resulting restoration looks and feels so natural that our patients often forget which of their teeth are implants and which are real teeth. This process can also be used to replace multiple missing teeth with implant bridges and implant supported dentures.
